How to use the tax refund calculator

  1. Enter your estimated tax liability.
  2. Enter what you've already paid through withholding and advance payments.
  3. Add any credits that reduce the tax directly and review the result.

How the tax return result is calculated

Result = paid + credits − liability

If you've prepaid more than you owe, the difference is refunded; if you've prepaid less, you pay it.
