How to use the business tax calculator

  1. Enter the year's revenue.
  2. Enter the deductible costs.
  3. Enter the applicable tax rate and review the tax and net profit.

How corporate tax is calculated

Profit = revenue − costs · Tax = profit × rate · Net margin = after-tax profit / revenue

The real taxable base may differ from accounting profit because of tax adjustments; consult an adviser.

Business tax example

With €500,000 of revenue and €400,000 of costs, profit is €100,000. At a 25% rate, tax is €25,000 and €75,000 remains: a 15% net margin.

Illustrative example with the data shown; not a guaranteed outcome.

Assumptions and limitations

  • You enter the rate; adjustments, incentives and loss carry-forwards are not applied.
  • All costs entered are assumed to be deductible.
